Vernon and Girmay put NSN Cycling Team on the map with wins in Australia and Spain
The young NSN Cycling Team has kicked off 2026 with strength, achieving its first victories in just a few weeks. Ethan Vernon triumphed on the demanding Willunga stage of the Tour Down Under, while Biniam Girmay won the opening stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, establishing the team as one of the season’s rising stars.

British rider Ethan Vernon claimed his most important victory since joining the team, marking NSN Cycling Team’s first win since its recent creation.
“I really wanted to win out here,” said Vernon. “I wanted to start the season strong. We’ve got a new setup with the team, and to be the first rider to win in this jersey is really special. We’ve got some new sponsors, and I wanted to make those guys proud. I think when you win in Australia, it builds momentum for the whole team. Most of our guys are on training camp now, but winning here helps build momentum for them too. Hopefully they start the season in Europe strong as well.”

Meanwhile, Biniam Girmay was crowned winner of the first stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, the first major cycling event of 2026 in Spain. The race will conclude on Sunday, February 8, and Girmay aims to maintain the lead over the coming stages.
With these victories, NSN Cycling Team demonstrates that its young roster has the potential to shine in the major races on the international calendar. The team is also preparing for the UAE Tour, which will take place from February 16 to 22, aiming to consolidate their performance and add more successes to the season.
